Or, after living in Northwest Arkansas, "Hey, All Y'all!" (It's more inclusive and I like implying an audience.)

"An audience for what," you ask? Welp, this blog that I'm subheading "A Lighter Look at the Business of Life."

I questioned using the word "Lighter" (yup, expect lots of thoughts about words) because after all, business is so serious. But it can be funny, ridiculous and absurd, too -- at least in my career. And isn't it time for an Erma Bombeck of business? (I debated using Erma because it dates me, but whatever. I'll always love her. Yup, expect plenty of pre-millennial references.)

When I started my career, I assumed my business life would stay in its own lane, running parallel to the family/friends/fun/spiritual/real life lanes. But I've found it's less urban grid and more suburban cul-de-sac, with every road twisting, turning, intersecting and influencing the whole darned neighborhood of my life. (Yup, expect plenty of tortured metaphors. Hey -- The Tortured Metaphor. What a great name for a pub. In fact, The Tortured Metaphor could be one of a family of pubs -- The Witty Comment, The Backhanded Compliment...then again, maybe not. Yup, expect digressions.)

I'll post articles, experiences and thoughts about advertising, innovation, creativity, philanthropy, ethics, healthcare or other ideas I find interesting. Topics might also include food, sports, music, movies, trends, design, travel, culture, profiles and features. I promise no politics.

All you have to do is check it out and let me know what you think.
